Greetings!! It is my pleasure to serve as the Zonta Club of Tallahassee (ZCT) President 2009-2010. I am looking forward to a great year of Service and Advocacy as we, you and I, ensure that we strive to attain Zonta's Mission of "advancing the status of women worldwide".
My goal for ZCT is 3(M) fold. Firstly, to Maintain our integrity and standards. Secondly, to Maximize our potentials and talents and thirdly, to Mobilize our membership enthusiastically.
As we forge ahead, we will begin to develop and put in place the ideas and goals that were formulated at our Strategic Planning Meeting. Hopefully, we will build strong committees and relationships all the while enjoying ourselves as we do so.
Members will have a chance to sign up to be on one of the many Committees that our Club has to offer. Be it the Bylaws, Fellowship, Golden Z, Membership, Program, Resources, Service, Status of Women or United Nations. Members can find their passion and give it their all!! We can not do it without you our members!!
Members are also encouraged to sign up for one or more Service Projects to fulfill their minimum requirement of 12 service hours yearly (June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010). With new and exciting projects waiting to take shape, 12 hours should be easily achieved.
This year there as are as many as 12 Service projects from which to choose- including the Advocacy Project, Bed,Bath & Hope (BB&H), Elder Care, Florida History Fair, Habitat for Humanity, Hope Homeless Shelter, Anti-Human Trafficking, The Key is in Her Hands, Mammogram Project, PACE Center for Girls,Refuge House Thrift Shop and Toiletries for Refuge House.
Project chairs and co chairs are anxiously waiting in the wings to guide and assist members. Look for announcements in the Club's newsletter for information regarding these many projects.
Members will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of events and activities, so that their Zonta experience will be extremely rewarding.
Note the Chinese proverb, "When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others".
