Zonta International is on the front lines of global and local efforts to help women overcome barriers to equal education, health care, legal rights, credit and employment through education, service and advocacy programs funded by Zonta International Foundation.

Since 1928, Zonta International has addressed challenges to women’s equality in science, business, public affairs and government by providing critical financial support through programs funded by the Zonta International Foundation.

Globally, gender-based violence is the most pervasive and least recognized human rights violation. It affects every race, class, culture, ethnicity, age and country. Women are potential victims of violence at every stage of their lives. Violence against women takes many forms, including prenatal sex selection, female infanticide, female genital mutilation, sexual harassment, abuse and assault, dowry violence, honor killings, domestic violence, battering, marital rape, forced prostitution and trafficking.

Women's equality is not yet a reality. Women worldwide face systemized discrimination - they lack opportunities to live healthy lives, free from legal, social, economic and political inequality.
