Description: The Zonta Mammogram Project is a collaboration between the Tallahassee Zonta Club and the Leon County Health Department to provide free breast cancer screening to women who are uninsured or underinsured and have no financial means to obtain this preventive health procedure. Additionally, it's purpose is to educate the community about the benefit of early preventive screening to detect and treat the occurrence of breast cancer in women.
A) Fund the Leon County Health Department to cover preventive screenings as outlined in the agreement between Zonta and LCHD
B) Provide information and education on breast cancer and the need for preventive screening to women and their families in the community
Zonta Objective: To promote the health of women in the community.
Outcome: To provide free preventive screenings to women meeting the eligibility criteria with the goal of identifying early the presence of breast cancer. To educate community about the benefit of preventive screening.
